The Today show - stills on set!

Earlier this year, The Today Show came to Mesquite to feature the ladies behind JBF ( Just between Friends ). This children's clothing and toy consignment sale is a huge event 2 times a year in Mesquite, and gets tons of press coverage locally. This year when The Today Show got wind of what was going on, they sent a crew down to film it!

I was happy to accept the assignment of shooting stills and BTS photos, and it was a great day working with the NBC film crew and JBF ladies! Here are a few behind the scenes outtakes from the shoot, and a link to the story.

Twin Sisters - Dallas, Highland Park, Rockwall, Lakewood and Sunnyvale Portrait Photography

This is one of my favorite images of 2012, and my career as a portrait photographer. These poor girls were not liking the Texas heat much, and had about all of the fun they were going to. As we were wrapping up, I spotted this area and asked mom to try one more time. A few treats, some juice and a short break left them with about 5 minutes of energy, and this was one of the last frames I snapped as we were deciding to call it quits. This was not posed other than one sister was already sitting in the chair. You only get a split second for shots like this because the moment passes as quick as it came. I was EXTREMELY PROUD to deliver a large canvas of this image to their parents.

Olivia - First birthday portrait session sneek peek - Dallas, Ft. Worth, Highland Park, University Park portrait photographer

I can't wait to post all of the images from this session. It was hands down the sweetest 1 yr old Birthday session I have ever photographed. She was a trooper and always had a smile, or hilarious gesture for the camera! Highland Park was a perfect partially overcast, mixed with some bearable temps for this time of year, so we captured all we could before the light gave out on us! Look for more to come in the next couple of weeks!

Holbrook Family

J Photography does A LOT of family portraits. November through January is our peak time with everyone home for the holidays and on leave from the military. When the kids get older, getting everyone together does become a bit more difficult, so cherish the moments with a great family portrait! It's never too late to have one commissioned and once everyone goes their separate ways again, you will be glad you did.

Christina's Maternity Session

Inherently, shooting lots of newborns also results in shooting plenty of maternity photos too. Ladies, your baby bump IS sexy, so don't let time get away without recording this stage in your life!

Christina came to us for maternity and newborn photos, but had some apprehensions. After she discussed some ideas with Tamara, we made them happen!  Once Mila  (the cutest baby we've ever photographed besides our own) arrived, we went to work on her newborn portraits as well.  Those will certainly be posted as soon as mom has seen them.

We shoot A LOT of newborn sessions at our studio, and every one of them is just as much of a joy as the last. Babies make my job so easy, I mean really, how could you not like a photo of a cute cuddly baby??? That being said, my wife and I still go the extra mile for our clients and provide them with portraits that will be cherished for decades.
